Hey there, friends! I'm so excited to announce that Season 2 of "A Friend for the Long Haul" is almost here! I can't wait to share more stories, insights, tears, laughs, and the ADHD of it all with all of you.
Season 2 Premiere: Covid Safe Colorado
To kick things off, I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Katrina and Corey, the founders of Covid Safe Colorado. I’ve been volunteering with CSC for a while, mostly helping out with social media posts and the monthly newsletter. The mission of Covid Safe Colorado is “to deliver high-quality masks, especially to those who are high risk or marginalized, like seniors and BIPOC, Poor, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and chronically ill folks. We do this work because…
– Governments and institutions have abandoned us, so we must help ourselves.
– Everyone deserves the tools, knowledge, and social connection in order to survive a pandemic.”
We talked about why they started the mask bloc, what they've learned along the way, and their plans for the fall. Katrina and I also discuss our decision in July to become what we’ve called Pacing Buddies, and how that’s helped us both. It was a super lovely conversation, and I think you'll enjoy it.
About "A Friend for the Long Haul"
If you're living with Long Covid, ME/CFS, or any other chronic illness, you know how isolating it can be. That's why I started this podcast – to create a space where we can connect, share experiences, and support each other. So many of us haven’t met other long haulers in person yet, and I wanted to offer a consistent space where you can sit down and feel like you’re dropping in on a conversation with other long haulers, shooting the shit on the couch or at the dining table.
Episode Schedule
New episodes will drop every other Monday, starting on August 26th.
Listen Now
If you haven’t listened before, there’s an entire first season to get you acquainted - 18 episodes! Subscribe to "A Friend for the Long Haul" on your favorite podcast platform. I’ll add Spotify and Apple Pods links below. You can also find the podcast on YouTube - but don’t expect actual video. I don’t like to ask sick folks to feel like they have to be on the spot or dress up for these things, and I don’t usually have the spoons for that myself! So, they’re audio only.

Conclusion
I'm so grateful for all of your support, and I can't wait to see what this season brings. I have some panel-style episodes I’m planning around finding love, losing love, and attempting to find love, as well as some plans for couple of holiday-relevant episodes. Let's keep the conversation going! If you’d like to support me and my work on the podcast, check out my Bonfire shirt site: https://www.bonfire.com/store/a-friend-for-the-long-haul/ - I’m selling shirts to fund a professional license of Zoom so that I don’t have to record 40 minutes at a time and ask people to come back! lol. I’m about halfway to my goal of $140.
I also have an Amazon Wishlist which is extensive because c’mon, it’s a wishlist: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3MYBB5G0P7YUD?ref_=wl_share , everything on it is either something I use regularly, that I’d use more regularly if I didn’t feel bad buying it, or something I think would help me feel better. Yes, right now, that includes fall decor. :D
Yayy! Can't wait!
